I saw Dr. Youn on the Tamara Hall show, and found out that he is a believer in using “natural” methods for long term beauty regimens. He does sell beauty products, which I am happy to inform you he
reports to be “cruelty-free”.
I share his website with you because at HairBlues we try to help you find good beauty products.

News you can use 🙂
It is that time of year when most of us pull out the sunscreen (even though it’s recommended to use it all year long).
In case you’re wondering whether it is important to also protect your scalp. Here are some guidelines from a website I found on the www.

How many times have you thought about keeping that old makeup and even worse used it? I get it. Makeup is expensive, and sometimes we overbuy, or over experiment – then we end up wasting those hard to come buy dollars.

Nevertheless, makeup does have an expiration date, and we should be cautious to follow the suggestions given on its use.

As some of you already know, sunscreen should be worn all year long and even on cloudy days.
In my neck of the woods most of us are paying attention to sunscreen when beach weather is upon us. However, it is important to know the guidelines for purchasing sunscreen in order to protect your skin properly.
Below is a link to a video that the Cancer Foundation has provided for your assistance.

Have you ever thought about using SPF on your hair during the months when you may be spending a lot of time on the beach, playing tennis, or just being outdoors during sunny days? Probably not.
It turns out that SPF for haircare is something we should pay attention to. Not only should we protect our bodies, we should also spray sunscreen on our scalps.
Hairblues has discussed this topic before, but I can not say it often enough. People of color NEED to use SUNSCREEN. See the excerpt below for details.
Health experts advise everyone, regardless of skin color, to use sunscreen with an SPF of at least 30. Although dark-skinned people won’t get sunburned as quickly, they will still burn and are still susceptible to sun-induced damage—such as sun spots and wrinkles—and cancer .

As the Cancer Foundation states:
“Everyone under the sun needs to use sunscreen“.
“If you use an SPF 30 product properly, it would take you 30 times longer to burn than if you used no sunscreen“.
This includes children and babies.
